A quiet site in the verdant Dordogne Valley.
Jean-Pierre and Andrée's concern for the environment shows in their decision to build a Quercy-style villa. It is perfectly insulated and affords natural protection in both hot and cold weather.
The vegetation, native to the region, and the organic food garden are cultivated without using pesticides or other chemicals.
The swimming pool is has an important safety feature: an electric tarpaulin cover that slides open and shut easily for maximum protection in case very small children might wander near the pool when their parents' backs are turned. The pool water is treated with a saline solution to avoid the use of chlorine.
Everything here makes you want to take advantage of the pleasant natural surroundings :
Villa Touloumo is located off a dead-end road overlooking the Dordogne river valley, on a property of 4 hectares (10 acres). The atmosphere is particularly calm and the view is exceptional on the Rocamadour plateau and the cliffs along the Dordogne.
The lounging chairs around the pool and in the garden under the trees are an invitation to stretch out and relax. The "pétanque" (bowls) court, where before-dinner drinks are served, is just beckoning to players!
The living room & dining room are pleasant places for relaxing and dining in cooler weather. The bookshelves are well stocked with leisure reading and documentation about the region.
There's a large, shady private parking area for vehicles and a garage for motorcycles and bicycles.
All rooms are equipped with free wi-fi access.
Villa Touloumo is listed in the "Gîtes de France" guidebook and ranked "Chambre d'Hôte de Charme" with 4 "épis" for 2014.
